Spring's Perfect Trench Coat (And Day Brightener!)

Colorful Coral.  I knew from the minute I saw this trench coat at Bebe that it belonged on my body! The bright hue was so enticing, promising to brighten up any and every day--even cold, windy ones like the day I wore it for these pictures! (It also didn't hurt that it was on clearance).

I've been saving this look for awhile, waiting for the perfect time to showcase my beloved coral coat. And when I say it's been awhile, I mean it. I bought this coat half a year ago! But it was time.  I've been feeling particularly chipper lately, about as bright and sunny as my coat!  I'm getting more and more excited for the future and I've even been looking into living on campus next year. Which would be a nice change to my 25 minute drive and health-induced lack of a social life.  So, yeah, I'm looking forward to actually being around PEOPLE. It'll be a fresh little change of pace!

I love, love, love outfits that contrast, as I'm sure you've seen from many previous contrasting style posts.  The intensity of the coral makes the black and white print of the top jump out, more than it would a solid neutral.  I wanted to keep the rest of the outfit simple, there would be way too much going on if I added anything that strayed from the current color scheme.  Black tights, shorts, and, of course, heels, fit the bill and let my chic-dalmatian shirt steal the show.  The belt is turned around backwards because it has a large silver clasp in the front.  I'm in love with this belt from Express, it dresses an outfit up and adds a touch of modernism but for this outfit, looked all too wrong with the top print.  I'd originally planned to have no belt at all but upon further inspection, a more flattering shape was necessary!  I added an edgy little necklace for a contrasting shape and because, I admit, I feel a little unfinished without some sort of jewelry.
