GIVEAWAY: GUESS Satchel

Giveaway: GUESS Satchel.  It's The Urban Lioness's very first giveaway! I'm excited to be giving away this beautiful GUESS satchel. I really love it, it goes with everything and it adds the perfect amount of polish and chicness to any outfit! Unfortunately the tag is gone now, I bought it and tore it off immediately, too excited to wait another moment to sport this beauty. I carried it once for a photo session a couple of months ago and lost it among the leggings and scarves--the abyss that is my closet. My eyes lit up once I organized my closet and found it but instead of keeping it, I want to pass on the style and share it with my wonderful readers!

All you have to do to enter is follow via Bloglovin to keep updated on all things The Urban Lioness & either leave your email/contact information in the comments section below or shoot me an email at theurbanlioness@gmail.com. I'll choose the winner at random and announce the winner of this fabulous bag on July 1st. I'll also email the winner for shipping information.

Note: Please only enter if you are a U.S. resident, I will not be shipping this beauty outside of the United States.

Good luck everyone & thanks for visiting The Urban Lioness!

Friday Blogger Spotlight: Poor Little It Girl

This week we're featuring Cathy from Poor Little It Girl! First of all, I think the blog name is super cute and I love it. Second of all, I equally love her adorable style! Everything she posts is so feminine and fun and can be easily translated into her readers' wardrobes! See more of her stylish looks on her blog here.

Well I Put So Much Thought Into Getting Ready, Now I Know That Was The Best Part…

Chambray Shirt: J.Crew  (on sale!) | Pants: Gap | Belt: Madewell
Heels: Elizabeth & James (old) | Hat: c/o Greenpacha | Nails: c/o Duri Cosmetics
Sometimes the best outfits are the ones made up of wardrobe basics. My favorite black pants, a (new) short sleeve chambray, suede heels and a panama hat tend to be my go-to look when I need to look smart, stylish, but not too stuffy. Speaking of stuffy, I took these photos in the midst of this nasty cold I can’t seem to shake, so you’re welcome for not posting the couple dozen frames of me blowing my nose. My boyfriend and I were supposed to grab dinner after these pictures, instead I opted to go home and take Nyquil…so much for getting cute.

Summer Leather & Rose Gold

Michael Kors Watch & Leather for Summer. I've never really been a hat person. In fact, I used to dread even wearing a baseball cap to hiking or to a game! I found this floppy black hat in the back of my closet (I've been doing a little belated spring cleaning) and decided that it was time that I incorporated it into an outfit! It just so happened that a cold front was moving through and that leather leggings look summer-chic with an over-sized cream-colored blouse & a piece of head flair!

(...I know. I just said head flair. It was the first thing that came to mind and it actually made me laugh out loud at how unbelievably cheesy it sounds--like when those articles in fashion magazines decide to make regular things like hats sound a lot more glamorous than they actually are!)

Tropical Elegance

Tropical Elegance.  There's nothing like a breezy blouse in the perfect summery shades to get you in the mood for going out! I wore this fluttery outfit to a grad party last week and to be honest it really convinced me to go. I wasn't sure I'd be very welcome since I haven't seen (or really spoken to) any of my high school friends for over a year. Since I graduated a year early I've felt a little out of place with the people I used to know--which is too bad. Anyhow, I threw on this beautiful blouse and instantly felt rejuvenated and ready to go since it's just too pretty to deny the chance of seeing daylight!

I struggled with the decision between my fuchsia wedges and nude pumps, ultimately deciding on the nude pumps as you can see here! The wedges made it a little more casual but I just loved the instant elegance the pumps and gold accessories made added to this outfit. The cutouts in the sleeves give the top such a touch of glamour and I thought I should keep that same luxe feel in the rest of the outfit.

Friday Blogger Spotlight: Little J Style

This week the spotlight is shining on Jackie from Little J Style. I have no idea why her blog isn't one of the most popular ones because it is just fantastic. It was really hard to choose my favorite outfit of hers to show to all of you but I think this one embodies her style and flair perfectly! Check out her blog for more gorgeous outfits and pictures, you're going to be hooked!
